In loving memory of Dirk Hartung
Unfortunately, we had to say goodbye to a beloved and very special member of our bodypainting family in March.
Dirk Hartung was a passionate photographer who came into contact with the art form of bodypainting over 20 years ago and was fascinated by it until the end of his life.
He was part of our large community, our international family, which met once a year in Carinthia at the World Bodypainting Festival. Friendships are formed there that truly last a lifetime.
Dirk was always there. When the festival week started, he arrived early so as not to miss a moment. Even during the very limited Covid festival times, he made sure he was actively involved. He tried to combine his passion from the motorsport scene with that of body painting art. Whether workshops or as a backdrop, he always had a good idea.
This photo from the Covid era is one of the best examples of combining these two worlds artistically. Body art doesn't last forever, just like life. Sooner or later we will have to say goodbye.
Dirk has captured ephemeral art and emotions forever. He has left us something that will remind us of him for all eternity.
